Alice was christened at Holy Trinity Church in Habergham Eaves on the 26 December 1883. The register shows that the family were living at Cog Lane and her father was a collier.

The 1891 Census shows Alice as a 7 year old scholar living with her family still at 151 Cog Lane. Notice that her father, James is now described as a retired grocer.

The 1901 Census shows Alice Annie still living with her parents but now at 276 Cog Lane. She is 17 years old.

At the time of the 1911 Census, Alice was living with her widowed mother still at 276 Cog Lane. Neither Alice or her mother appear to have a profession.

The 1939 Registers shows that Alice was living on her own at 335 Padiham Road in Burnley, she was working as a “Cinema Cashier”.

Alice died on 10 June 1981 aged 95. She was buried at Burnley Cemetery on 16 June in grave number 1685 with her parents.
