Arthur Brace Mangnall was born on the 12th June 1864 in Glidbrook near Eccles, he was the first child of John Mangnall (GM157) and Rebecca A Brace (GM268) from whom he took his middle name.
The 1871 Census shows Arthur living with his parents at 113 Queen’s Road in Manchester. Arthur is a six year old scholar.
By the time of the 1881 Census the family had moved to 27 Smedley Road in Manchester. Arthur is now aged sixteen and is an “Apprentice to Machine Fitter”.
Arthur died aged 21 in 1886 (RoD Prestwich 1886 Q1 V.8d p.341 age 21).
