William Mangnall was born about 1876 to William Mangnall (FM292) and his wife Emma (nee Collins) in Rusholme.

By the time of the 1881 Census William was 4 years old and living with his parents and two brothers at 5 Duke Street in Rusholme.

The 1891 Census shows that William was a boarder pupil at St Oswald’s College, Birch & Lyth near Ellesmere.

William was living with his Grandmother Anne (HM184) at Taintree House in Cheshire at the time of the 1901 Census. He was now 24 years old and working as a Commercial Clerk.
