William Thomas Magnall, or Tom as he was called, was born on the 5th September 1876, the first born son of Thomas (FM021) and Sarah (FM022) Magnall. He was christened on the 8th August the same year.

The 1881 census shows that he was 4 years old and living with his parents and younger brother Fred (EM019) at 49 Cog Lane in Habergham Eaves.

By the time of the 1891 census the family had moved to a grocers shop at 198 Accrington Road in Habergham Eaves. Although William was only 14 he was working as a cotton weaver.

William was 24 years old and still living at home with his parents at 198 Accrington Road by the time of the 1901 Census. He was still working as a cotton weaver.

William died on the 5th April 1924 aged 47. He was buried with his parents in Burnley cemetery.
