My name is Paul Magnall and I have been researching the Magnall and Mangnall family history since 1996. As you can see from the above photos I was a beautiful child and very musical with it! (If you want to know what I was really like you had better ask my family!)

I was born on 29th January 1960 in Sheffield. My father, Peter Magnall, was in the RAF but when he left we moved to Aston Clinton in Bucks. I went to Aston Clinton Primary School and then to Aylesbury Grammar School. After taking (and passing!) A-levels in Maths, Chemistry and Physics I went to work for a year at Marconi Space and Defence Systems in Stanmore where my father worked. I then went to Leeds University to study Chemical Sciences. I met Catherine at University and we were married in 1983 after we completed our degrees. I then spent a year studying to teach and then taught for 12 years at Mirfield High School. At the end of 1995 I left teaching to join a small company supplying ICT equipment and training to schools. When my boss decided to wind the company up and move on to other things I joined Datacable Ltd to develop a section doing the same sort of thing, supplying ICT equipment and training to schools. Earlier this year (2010) I left Datacable to become a self employed, freelance ICT consultant and trainer to schools. You can find more information about my work at Red Kite Computers.

Catherine works in therapeutic counselling. She currently works as a volunteer for Cruse Bereavement and for Market Place project for young people in Leeds but she also provides her own counselling service.

More information about myself will eventually end up here but at present I am concentrating on finding out more about my ancestors.
